Overview

With twenty years in the Irish market, amassing circa 200 staff, and currently in the process of strategically growing their market share ‑ my client is keen to add a Senior Compliance Manager to their ranks to link in with their Commercial and Sales teams in addition to collaborating across multiple business lines. Working closely with other risk specialists such as Legal, Audit etc. you will be responsible for the provision of technical compliance advice across the various business lines and consumer product offerings.

There is scope for progression and broadening of this role as the company grows if you have between 5 and 10 years’ experience in a Financial Services Compliance role, knowledge of risk frameworks and a specific industry background in consumer credit, lending and/or insurance.

The day to day:

Functional responsibility for the provision of technical regulatory advice in the promotion of consumer products across various business lines particularly in the context of commercial activity and third party relationships
Management of business partner regulatory relationships in support of the business strategy
Management of regulatory engagement and interactions through the co-ordination and preparation of regulatory communications to the highest standard in terms of quality and timeliness
Review and approval of business strategy documentation
Ensure regulatory change in relation to strategic partnership arrangements is identified, gap analysed and disseminated to the business within agreed timeframes
Fully support the business with expansion plans through the provision of quality regulatory advice, guidance and management of partnership expectations
Close management liaison with the First Line of Defence to ensure alignment of activities
Close working relationship and alignment with the Second Line ‑ Risk Partner team
Close management liaison with Third Line (Internal Audit) to ensure coverage of business risks, from both a product promotion and partnership perspective
Full participation in internal governance routines, including Risk Committee (sub-committee of the Board)
Ensure robust monitoring and testing routines to deliver assurance regarding our operating model
Ensure from a compliance perspective that the company is appropriately represented at meetings with industry bodies, e.g. BPFI to influence and keep up to date with regulatory and codes of practise changes

Required Skills: Ability to lead and influence change in a demanding and changing business and regulatory environment
Experience: 5+ years of experience working in a retail banking/financial services compliance role
Compliance expertise in a lending environment and the origination of credit
Knowledge of the Compliance Risk Framework and associated regulatory requirements e.g. CPC, CCR, AML etc.
Regulatory engagement experience and expertise e.g. Central Bank authorisation and licencing
Desirable Experience: Some knowledge of insurance related products desirable
