Job Title: Legal Entity Controller VP

Description:
Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Reporting, this incredible role is with a global custodian bank based in Dublin 2. You will be responsible for the Financial Control of my clients companies in Ireland. You will oversee all aspects of accounting and related controls and financial reporting, including statutory financial statements and internal reporting (to management and to the Boards).

The role will involve oversight and review of one junior controller.

Responsibilities:

Control/Oversight

Responsibility (either directly or through oversight of LE controllers/accountants) for all aspects of the accounting and control environment of the entities, including
Understand and control all aspects of the company’s business
Agree appropriate accounting treatments and issue resolution
Review /authorise intercompany allocations as required
Review GL reconciliations and approve journals as required
Monitor capital adequacy compliance in conjunction with the Regulatory Reporting team including oversight of eligible asset investments
Monitor completeness/accuracy of costs/revenues as part of the monthly variance review process
Reporting

Provide high quality Legal Entity reporting including;
The presentation of monthly/quarterly results to LE management/Boards
Provide analysis/interpretation of results, both locally and at a corporate level
Preparation of LE Financial Statements
Ensure that service level obligations are being met and that any servicing issues are resolved
Support of the audit process and review of LE budgets, as prepared by the EMEA LE forecasting team, to ensure completeness and accuracy
Staff Development of Reporting team

Provide support and assist in the development of staff.
Ensure and foster a climate of continuous improvement.
Assist in the strategic planning for the Irish LE Controller Group.
Control Environment

Document and update clear policies/procedures for the LE Reporting function.
Ensure compliance with all accounting policies and procedures
Change Management

Support business change initiatives, such as merger of TCIL into European Bank, including assessing impact on LE profitability and required T&D reporting.
Manage implementation of change projects impacting LE reporting team (eg, IFRS) and continued LE consolidation
Monitor and respond to accounting and related developments
Requirements:

8 years+ experience in a senior financial control/financial accounting role
Experienced in Variance reporting (local & corporate) and the preparation of management and statutory reports
CaseWare software experience an advantage.
