Job Title: Head Of Compliance, Insurance

Provide assurance to several (re)Insurance entities that adequate compliance structures are in place, consistent with Group Compliance requirements as well as being in line with applicable laws and regulations.

• Develop and enhance an already strong compliance culture.
• Exercise delegated rights, as well as escalation and alert duties.
• Coordinate outsourcing agreements with compliance resources when required.
• Work in cooperation with Head of Compliance in other territories and Business Heads to ensure consistency of decision-making and operating models.
• Measure, monitor, mitigate and clearly report actual and latent compliance risks.


• Adapt policies, procedures and the control plan for Compliance in each entity.
• Ensure that compliance in each entity is in line with Group standards, particularly in regard to organisation, risk assessment, professional ethics, etc.


• Effective implementation of compliance tools, systems, associated policies and control set-up.
• As necessary, review the regulatory returns complied by Finance and Actuarial teams.

Training and Culture:

• Establish and monitor a yearly compliance training plan in line with Group and local regulations and standards.

Financial Security:

• Ensure that processes are in line Group, particularly around organisation, permanent control, exemption, training, etc.
• Take measures to prevent economic crime including fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing, regardless of circumstance or stakeholder.
• Make sure adequate due diligence and controls are performed to "know your customers" and how they use the Group’s products and services.
• Be vigilant that customer transactions aren't related to bribery or corruption; report any suspicious operation to Senior Management or local Compliance.

Senior Compliance Professional:

• Five years minimum in a senior insurance compliance role.
• Insurance expertise in Life or non-Life (no preference).
• Reinsurance expertise is nice to have, but not essential.

Professional qualifications:

• ACOI related qualification preferable.
• Relevant University Degree or Professional Qualification.

Personal characteristics:

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; strategic thinker; strong people management skills; keen attention to detail.

The Individual Specifics, Experience and Key Skills:

• Excellent understanding of the Irish Regulatory environment.
• Strong Solvency II knowledge is preferable, as well as a strong understanding of Financial Security issues and trends.

Proven track record of delivery:

• Able to operate independently, leverage internal resources to ensure that projects, tasks and core requirements are delivered on time.
• Create a unified vision of territory for (re)insurance compliance risks:
• In line with what is expected of a Pre-Controlled Function Head of Compliance (PCF 12) as per Fit and Probity CBI regime.
